Chase teaches Foreman new skills in an area he had never before really tried in depth. He teaches him soft versus firm touches and the spots that make Chase moan. Chase teaches Foreman everything he’s been taught and it pays off when they’re in bed together, gasping to catch their breath.
“You’re getting pretty damn amazing,” Chase pants, body half draped against Foreman’s and creating a stark contrast.
Foreman just laughs, an utterly sated sound, tugging Chase closer as he lifts the blankets to cover their bodies.
“Only as good as the guy who taught me,” Foreman promises, still grinning.
*
In the span of his life, Chase has never wanted something more than he wanted to keep his job with House, to the point where he would lie, cheat, betray, and become Judas to do it. It turned out that in protecting himself, he did all those things. But Foreman and Cameron (who are smarter and prettier than him, in that order) can’t understand. They think he takes the job for granted.
But it’s really all he has now.
He’s got no family left and no relationships, has no worldly aspirations to achieve.
He just wants the job he’s got.
*
This land is not his land, no matter how many jingoistic children’s songs try to persuade him to feel otherwise about America the Great. He’s not even a true citizen of these shores – merely a visitor. He wonders if the strange looks will ever stop every time he opens his mouth and his accent comes tumbling out.
He bets they’re waiting on him to conform and become another Average Joe.
But he’s wary of giving up on Australia completely, because while he ran from his family, he still loves his nationality and he refuses to conform. Never completely. Not him.
