Title: Dreams
Fandom: House M.D.
Pairing: House/Chase, House/Cameron, House/Wilson, House/Stacy
Prompt: Fixed
Word Count: 363
Rating: PG-13
Author's Notes: House dreams of being fixed.
It’s a hopeless dream, but that’s the definition of dreaming, so it’s okay that fulfillment isn’t a guarantee. Years ago, he was broken against his will, his body subject to legal guardianship and a doctor’s happy scalpel. He dreams of being renewed, of running again, he even dreams of the days before his system was constantly polluted with the drugs.
Every once in a while, he has this dream. It’s recurring by now.
He’ll be in his office, idly playing with his yo-yo and then time jumps, Chase is there and he’s talking about kissing, describing it to House. Every time House dreams it, he still doesn’t figure out just whom Chase had been kissing, but that’s inconsequential.
In this dream, House always notices then, that Chase’s collar is flipped. He stands, stretches, and there is no pain at all as he walks around the desk, walks normally towards Chase and fixes his collar. And then his mind delves into his libido’s loneliness and decides to do something about it. In his dream, without a cane and where he is fully capable, he grabs Chase and they go stumbling backwards until House shoves Chase against the blinds, pinning him with strength he hasn’t known in far too long.
Even when Chase wraps both legs around his hips, he can support both their weight as Chase tips his head forward, hair falling in his eyes as he lays worshipping kisses at the stubbled skin of his neck.
Chase turns into Cameron who turns into Stacy before flickering into some version of Wilson and it’s usually right when he’s waking up that this happens because the flickering pain starts.
Wilson, pinned to the wall, regards him with sympathy. “Hurts, doesn’t it?”
“My leg always hurts,” House retorts scathingly. Wilson leans in, kissing him with a sort of emotion he hasn’t felt in years, being kissed like he’s loved.
“Not just the leg,” that’s Chase’s voice.
“Not really,” Cameron softly adds.
“Your leg may hurt, Greg,” Stacy comments, “but that’s not what you need fixed.” And when he wakes up gasping, he wonders how long it will be before he dreams his hopeless dream again.
