Drabble-Month: Day #3

Sometimes, Emma wonders, if she’s become paranoid in her old age. It’s not that she’s old, but when she grew up at the tender age of five, every year after that seems long and stretched, a shadow drawn out too many steps on the pavement. Sean’s got this way of wearing his emotions on his sleeve and so she’s caught him looking at her and Mickey, grinding his teeth until they just might break. This time, though, it’s her turn to watch and wonder.

She’s drinking from the hotel bar and watching Sean lean forwardly eagerly, laughing at some joke Ash has just told while Sean’s gaze is rapt on Ash’s fingers as he deals cards. She must be going mad, but she could swear that there’s something more to Sean’s expression beyond respect and admiration.

Funny. She’d always thought Ash had something of a paternal love for Sean, but that doesn’t seem to be the vibe she’s picking up on and she knows vibes.

She sips at her drink and stares at the both of them until she feels a light touch to her elbow. “Has something intrigued you, my dear?” Albert wonders cordially as Emma keeps her gaze on Sean and Ash, touching and tapping fingers as they play card tricks and share wry smiles.

“Yeah,” she says, a million miles away. “Yeah, I think it has.”

I feel like though unintentional, I love the vibe S5 & 6 brought because it kind of gives Albert the paternal/patriarch vibe, Mickey and Emma have their chemistry and then Sean and Ash have all this unexpected wonderful chemistry of their own!

you know what I loved? Ash/Emma in episode 5. She would totally be ok with Ash/Sean hook-up xD And Albie really is the grandpa of them all :D

omg I know, right? That's all I kept thinking was 'aw, she approves of Sean's boyfriend'. And oh god, after Sean made that little gesture about the new barmaid's chest, he gets this disapproving LOOK from Ash and tempers down. I love it I want more oh god, why isn't there MORE?

I know and then the whole scene at the end with their little banter and arm gestures and TOUCHING. I'm so tinhatting over them, it's ridic.

I feel like we need to like, unearth fandom for this. I love writing them but I so desperately want to read stuff other people have written (since I've mostly only done gen if I write Hustle, though I did write a threesome fic with Ash before).

I know, but the comm is so tiny. is there a fanfic hustle comm, maybe that would help? I wished this fandom would be a quarter as active as the Leverage one. IDK why that is, same show, same characters, different setting, but one with millions of fics and one with 5.

Hustle has only two generic comms where fic and icons can be posted, which essentially means both are super low-traffic. I'd love to open up a fic devoted one. Hell, I have one for a movie that only has twelve members, this has to do better. Plus, it might spark the off-chance of just one more fic or something.
